Launchpad - Beat Music Maker App Reviews

This is slowly becoming one of my favorite apps! With the ableton link feature you can have a lot of fun with friends....or if you dont have any try using 2 iPhones at once! One in each hand is a lot of fun! Not only is it a fun toy but could have serious uses in a live set up or in the studio to get those quick stutter and repeat effects without much effort....oh and its free I mean come on! I now use it with my novation circuit with everything "linked" in ableton....good stuff!

Everytime I try to get it, it says it timed out! Please fix this. I even rebooted my ipod and it didnt work.

This app is great! Ive made some music with this for several months now (maybe more) and it has not failed to amuse me...until now. It wont let me download the glitchstep soundpack. Ive even restarted the app and checked my projects list. It still wouldnt show up. Please fix this.

I eagerly downloaded the Glitchstep soundpack when I saw that it was available for free, and was equally excited once I started playing with it. But I quickly noticed something wasnt right with one of the pads, specifically the pad titled "Data SFX." While the tempo for the sound pack is at 110 bpm, the "Data SFX" pad is at 117.83 bpm. Because of this, it doesnt line up with the rest of the song and, unfortunately, makes it useless. Fix this, and Ill change to 5 stars. Other than that, this is one of the best apps on the AppStore.

They need to update the hardware requirements for this software and allow a rollback for the latest version for older devices. We have quite few purchases in this app, but after the latest update it renders recording useless on two of the devices because of delays, clicks, and pops running a live session. I love this app, but Im in a bind now and have to switch to something else immediately because I cant depend on it anymore. ****Update**** After the update and update to the latest IOS its still glitchy. Start two or three samples and there is a slight delay and crackle prior to sample starting. More than 4 and it studders and glitches and becomes unusable. It worked a couple of versions ago for me, but now its unusable. Im not going to buy a bigger/newer idevice to run it when the 7 devices I own exhibit the same symptoms. It used to be awesome. Glad I didnt waste money on the hardware Launchpad.

I recommend that music makers should use this application. (^O^) it is a great app that U can use with the launch pad mini!!!!!∩˙▿˙∩ Onlyyyy if U want more sounds U have to buy them for usually 3 bucks.

You think of music making apps and you think of blocky, Hard to follow, Low quality apps. But this is by far the best. I can use this for hours and not get bored, They produce good quality sounds that can pass as studio produced. They release a new pack every week of a different genre and $2 is definitely worth it

I love this app and use it regularly. I like how you can directly upload your music to SoundCloud. Nice app :)

Im an old school producer, and love working with real world equipment including several Novation synths which are highly prized in my arsenal of sound creation. This is my first venture into a handheld app that is way deeper than I first thought. Im like, ok it plays samples on demand in any order etc. But then I was looking at the in app purchases i.e., the EFX in particular, and for a small price added them and unleashed a very powerful matrix of sound manipulation! Working with headphones is the best method for me of creating new works using the EFX in Launchpad as you can assign certain EFX to the left and right channels or pan across the stereo spectrum. Launchpad is meant to be played live and you can save your performances and export them in a couple formats. Perhaps further adding to the recording in Ableton or any DAW you prefer. There is a vast selection of sound sets that can be bought through Launchpad than can be opened in Blocs Wave as well for further song editing and creation. These are two very powerful free apps that open up new possibilities for sound editing and song creation. You can get into Novations apps for a fraction of what their hardware version costs, but if your not familiar with Novations hardware this is a great introduction to their approach to live or studio song creation thats a bit different in a market thats booming with great small companies with different ideas on the whole creative process!! I also like how Novation listens to suggestions and make frequent updates!! Cheers guys & keep up the good work!!

Best music making app ever! I love how I can now browse the news and such whilst listening to the music. However, only 3 packs are free right now. Could you make more packs free every now and then? Other than that, I love this app. Five Stars

This is literally my favorite app in 10 years of owning an iPhone. Easy to use, even easier to spark your creativity. The heavy lifting of selecting sets of loops is done for you. Your sole responsibility is to create music. There is no reason for other apps to exist in Apples AppStore. -update 12-14-15: keep up the great work. Still my favorite looping interface ever created (free). Your developers are making the world a better place! Thank You!

Am I missing something? The release notes say you can keep the music playing while you manage your projects or browse the store, but the "Stop All" button appears right over the menu icon. This seems like exactly the opposite. Also, if you accidentally hit the stop button, theres no undo!

I absolutely love this app for remixing purposes but have experienced crashing when trying to share my project. Please fix so I can give more stars!

Always updating and adding new features, a great mobile app that works great with my launchpad Pro

Dont get me wrong, this app is nice. But theres a huge problem. Its crashing a lot. And I cant import anything at all. Please fix.
